Guidlines

You and your dog must pass The Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. therapy dog certification analysis given by one of our qualified evaluators.

OUR THERAPY DOG TEST IS NOT THE AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN® TEST

The Canine Good Citizen® test is available upon request but is not automatically awarded when you and your dog pass our Therapy Dog Certification Analysis. Canine Good Citizen test is a separate test - $10.00

Long distance certification is available in areas not served by one of our evaluators.
The test is available by mail or on-line so you can prepare and train.

  • The test is graded rather than a pass/fail basis.
  • Therapy Dog Certification Analysis: $15.00. (Testing fees may vary with a sponsoring club)

    When you pass the test we will send you a kit containing a registration form signed by a certified evaluator. (See How Do I Register?)

      Registration Kit
    Upon registration you will receive:
     

  • $2,000,000.00 primary accident and liability insurance protection while working with your dog.
  • A red bone shaped identification tag stating : "I Am A Therapy Dog."
  • A special red & white bones Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dog 4' leash
  • An official Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dog certificate (in calligraphy, suitable for framing)
  • A bumper sticker warning other motorists:
    "TRANSPORTING THERAPY DOGS PLEASE DON'T TAILGATE"
  • ID card and name badge with your dog's picture stating he/she is a therapy dog.
  • A badge holder to proudly display the name badge while you work with your dog.
  • Monthly post cards listing established pet therapy groups you can attend.
  • Quarterly newsletters
  • Guidelines, information and guidance to help you conduct a successful therapy dog visit.
  • Encapsulated pooper bags.
  • Support! We are available to all members for advice, support and help at our toll free number, by fax, email, snailmail or in person, if necessary.
